Program Spotlight Preventing and addressing domestic minor sex trafficking

In the U.S., prostituting a minor is a form of human trafficking. It is estimated that roughly 200,000 American children are at serious risk of commercial sexual exploitation.

The Tell Your Friends Program

Based on real life teen narratives in the 'Pathways Report – Into and out of Commercial Sexual Exploitation'- the Tell Your Friends program educates teens – in public high schools, foster care and group homes, and at youth agencies – who are at high risk for coercion into prostitution and sexual slavery.

FAIR Fund educates teens about sexual violence and human trafficking, offers them service referrals, and seeks to give them confidence to avoid exploitation. The program also trains community service agencies, teachers, police officers, and local officials in how to better identify and assist teens in need.

Read coverage of FAIR Fund’s prevention model in the Washington Post and on NPR.
